When it comes to conducting business online, and while considering different types of products & services, for instance a physical or a downloadable, electronic product, the primary issue that should strike a person is how to market your product. While having the best sales copy, superior order of web pages, and the most modest price, if you do not push your product no one will be there to see your products leave alone buy them.

Alice launched a web based proprietorship nearly four years prior to the present status. When it came to deciding Alice's marketing strategy, she began with something called Google Adwords. She decided to find out more about a web technique called Google Adwords. Towards this search, Alice purchased a number of electronic books on the subject Google Adwords. And boned up on everything she could learn pertaining to this method.

As she proceeded in her web based undertaking, Alice happened upon something called eBay. She found that it was possible for her to use eBay to sell her goods. Thus, Alice jumped from one marketing technique to another. While spending four years in online marketing, Alice came upon email marketing, building subscription lists and pay-per-click campaigns, joint ventures, including affiliate marketing, and posting in forums, and blog posting, and submitting articles to directories.

At every stage, Alice learnt as much as she could about the subject being considered.

In other words, Alice was exposed to the full range of marketing techniques used in internet marketing. But, four years after venturing into pursuing an online occupation, Alice has not made any money in terms of sizeable profits. This is nowhere near her ambitions when she started out.

Thus, the most relevant query is : how would you market digital as against physical merchandise? To find the right answer to this question, the following queries need to be answered beforehand:

1. How much time are you willing to spend? Every day? During the weekends?
2. Are you ready to repose for infrastructure being established before you actually bring forth your product or service to the market?
3. What figure do you have in mind do you have for investing?
4. Are you prepared to wait some months for profits to commence? Or do you opt for profits at once?
5. Are you promoting sales of products in which you have expertise?
6. Do you have enough knowledge about your goods to close a sale with a prospective buyer?
7. If not, are you willing to identify a niche where you know a lot?
8. Are you well informed about your target market sufficient to develop products meeting their needs?
9. If not, would you descend to using reasoning skills for knowing your target market fully? Do you have the perseverance to learn to use such tools?
10. Do you have logical thinking abilities?
11. Do you have research skills?
12. Can you employ the words to promote that are perceived as needs by target markets?
13. Would you consider writing network blogs and articles to build on your expert knowledge?
14. Do you have writing skills?
15. Otherwise, would you go in for a proxy writer who will write in your stead?
16. Are you a good networker? That is, do you relate easily with other persons?

If you respond to the queries given above frankly, the proper method of marketing your product or service will become apparent. But the critical thing is to concentrate on a single technique, and extract all its results before you begin on switching techniques. Dont chase several techniques, all at once, like Alice mistakenly did. You will end up with nothing to show.
